Every Sir Knight is recognized by his Malta Jewel, typically presented as in this example:
The Grand Encampment of Knights Templar of the US, as part of its bicentennial celebration, has minted a unique Malta Jewel to be presented to those who are knighted before December 31, 2016 and is demonstrated at the left and in close up below. These jewels will be provided to new Sir Knights after they have been knighted.
You may want to receive the Order of the Temple before the end of this year in order to qualify for the bicentennial jewel.

Those who are already Sir Knights may purchase with a solid black ribbon for $25.00 from Grand Encampment officers or from the Grand Encampment office in Houston. It is preferable that a commandery place orders for a number of jewels at one time in order to reduce shipping expenses.
